What is snail mail?

Snail mail is a popular English term that refers to the traditional, slower, physical mail delivered to your mailbox by a postal worker. Some also call it slakkenpost (snail mail) in Dutch.

Why a snail mail about Dutch history and culture?

I'm the founder of Visiting The Dutch Countryside. This is a platform where I teach people about Dutch culture and history. I do this primarily through tours, articles on my website, and videos on social media. I discovered that many people don't realize how rich and diverse Dutch culture and history is. Some even think the Netherlands has no culture at all. That's when I decided it was my job to teach people about Dutch culture and history online.

While I still really enjoy this, I feel like something tangible is missing. We live in a world full of screens and streaming subscriptions, etc., but ultimately, you lose all your favorite movies and series if you cancel your subscription.

The advantage of snail mail is that it's tangible and therefore now yours. Besides, we already have plenty of square eyes, so it's high time to make them a bit rounder again.

Shipping within the Netherlands
It can take up to seven business days for the Itse Mail to arrive in your mailbox after shipping. If you haven't received my snail mail by then, please send an email to slakkenpostitseclub[@]outlook.com ; I'll make sure it's taken care of.
Shipping outside the Netherlands
It can take between four and thirty business days for my Itse Mail to arrive in your mailbox. If you haven't received anything after 30 business days, please send me an email at the following address: slakkenpostitseclub[@]outlook.com . I'll then make sure a replacement is sent your way.

Registration period and waiting time
You can subscribe to the same edition of the Itse Mail this month if you sign up by the 25th of the month at the latest. If you subscribe later, you'll receive the next edition of the Itse Mail in your mailbox. If you're thinking, "I'd love to receive all the issues from this year, but it's April now... what can I do?" You could take out an annual subscription (which automatically expires after one year). Then you'll also receive all previous issues in your mailbox.
The Itse Mail is usually sent at the end of each month, with the exception of December. This exception is due to the exceptionally busy period postal services are facing. Therefore, I'll be sending the December edition of Itse Mail earlier. You can still register until December 25th, but please be aware of additional delays due to the busy period.

Can I also buy previous editions of Itse Mail?
Yes, that's possible. However, it's only possible if you purchase a year-long subscription (it expires automatically after one year). It doesn't matter whether you buy it in June or even December. I'll send you all the previous issues.
I need to change my payment method, email address, or shipping address.
Sometimes you change banks, move to a different address, and so on. You don't want to miss a single issue of Itse Mail due to missed payments or because it was sent to a different address. You can adjust your information via this link .
I see that money has been debited from my bank account for Itse Mail twice in succession, what's going on?
This can happen if you have Itse Mail at the beginning of a registration period, but luckily you don't have to worry about it: each payment corresponds to a specific month.
I would like to cancel my Itse Mail
That's a shame. You can easily cancel your monthly subscription if you don't like it or if you decide you don't want it within 14 days of ordering.

What is snail mail?
Snail mail is a popular English term for the traditional postal service, which is obviously much slower than digital mail delivered to your email. So it's mail sent the traditional way.
Why did I create a snail mail about Dutch culture & history?
I'm the founder of Visiting The Dutch Countryside, which is a platform where I teach people more about Dutch culture and history. I generally teach people more about The Netherlands through my website, tours and social media.
The reason I started sharing this information is that many people (Dutch and those from outside the country) do not know how rich and diverse Dutch culture and history truly are. There are even people who think that The Netherlands has no culture. That's why I made it my personal mission to teach people about Dutch culture and history online.
While I still enjoy making these videos and articles, I do feel like I'm missing something tangible. We live in a world that is filled to the brim with streaming services, where you don't own anything. If you stop your subscription, you're left with nothing, and that doesn't sit right with me. The advantage of snail mail is that it's tangible and is now yours. You can do whatever you want with it. Do you want to create a booklet on Dutch culture and history that includes all the information I shared, so you can easily read it again? You can do so. Besides that, we all have enough square eyes to last a lifetime.
Postage within The Netherlands
It can take up to 7 working days for my snail mail to reach you at your address in The Netherlands. If you haven't received it by then, please email me at slagpostitseclub[@]outlook.com, and I'll make sure to resolve the matter.
International postage
It can take anywhere from 4 to 30 working days for my snail mail to be delivered by post from The Netherlands to any other country. Please email snailpostitseclub[@]outlook.com if you haven't received your Dutch history and culture snail mail by then, and I'll be sure to send you a replacement. Tracking
My Itse Mail Club is mailed with stamps, keeping your subscription as affordable as possible. That is why there is no track-and-trace available for the Itse Mail Club.
Sign-up period and wait time
You can sign up for my Itse Mail Club through the 25th of each month to receive the issue of Itse Mail from that same month. If you sign up after the 25th of each month, you will receive the next month's edition when it's sent out.
My Itse Mail is generally sent at the end of each month, except in December. Because December is such a busy time for postal offices, I will send these ones out earlier. You can still sign up until the 25th of December to receive December's issue of Itse Mail. However, expect some extra delay due to the high volume of posts worldwide.

Can I get the previous Itse Mails?
The only way you can catch up on the previous issue of Itse Mail is by purchasing the one-year subscription (which doesn't renew- it's a one-time payment). But there is limited availability.
Need to change your email, payment method or address?
It happens. You might move, or you might get a different bank account or email address (trust me, I have like seven myself), and of course, you do not want to miss your trusty Itse Mail shipping confirmation or miss a monthly payment because of that. You can use this link .
I see that there is a payment overlap. Why is that?
That sometimes happens when you join my Itse Mail at the beginning of a sign-up period. But don't worry, each payment corresponds to a specific month.
Can I cancel my Itse Mail?
You can cancel your monthly subscription very easily if you do not enjoy it as much as you thought you would, or if you decide within 14 days of ordering that you do not want the subscription. And that's okay, you know what they say: different strokes for different folks.
I got my Itse Mail, but unfortunately, it's damaged.
