This so-called 'snail mail' about Dutch culture and history is for anyone who wants to take a moment for themselves every month and learn something at the same time.

You can subscribe until the 25th of each month. If you subscribe later, you'll receive the following month's Itse Mail when it's sent.

What is snail mail?

Snail mail is a popular English term that refers to the traditional, slower, physical mail delivered to your mailbox by a postal worker.

Why a snail mail about Dutch history and culture?

I'm the founder of Visiting The Dutch Countryside. This is a platform where I teach people about Dutch culture and history. I discovered that many people don't realize how rich and diverse Dutch culture and history are. Some even think the Netherlands has no culture at all. So I made it my mission to teach people about Dutch culture and history.

But now I was still missing something tangible. And that's why the Itse Mail Club is here.

What's in this Dutch snail mail?

Every month there are four items in your Itse Mail.

1. A letter in which I not only tell you something about the contents of the monthly Dutch snail mail, but also put down on paper some thoughts that come to mind.

2. A thick, double-sided A4 sheet of paper in which I discuss a topic from Dutch culture and history, highlighting and raising certain points.

3. A card printed with an old photo from the National Archives that fits the month.

4. And finally, something creative or stimulating for your mind or for your home; think of a bingo card, word search, photo print, etc. And everything has to do with the Netherlands, of course.

That's something different to look forward to.
