Snail mail is a popular English term for the traditional postal service, so it's mail sent the old-fashioned way.

For whom is this annual Dutch culture & history snail mail subscription?

It's for anyone who would like to learn more about Dutch culture and history in person. My annual snail-mail subscription about Dutch culture and history is the perfect gift for any friend or family member who is interested in learning more about The Netherlands. It's a great gift for special occasions or just because you feel like they deserve a bit of fun and joy in their lives.

Why did I create a snail mail about Dutch culture & history?

I'm the founder of Visiting The Dutch Countryside, which is a platform where I teach people more about Dutch culture and history. I generally teach people more about The Netherlands through my website and social media.

The reason I started sharing this information is that many people (Dutch and those from outside the country) do not know how rich and diverse Dutch culture and history truly are.

While I still enjoy making these videos and articles, I do feel like I'm missing something tangible. That's why the Itse Mail Club is here.

What's in this monthly Dutch history and culture snailmail?

You get four pieces every month . There are three things that always stay the same, and there's one piece that changes whenever I want, basically.

1. Every month, you always get a letter from me. In this letter, I will not only write about the content of this month's culture and history snail mail, but also share some of my thoughts.

2. A double-sided A4-size sheet of well-researched information about a specific subject, where I discuss something within Dutch culture and history.

3. A postcard of an old photo from the Dutch National Archives that fits the month or the stories that I've talked about in the snail mail.

4. And lastly, something creative or stimulating for your brain. A crossword, photo print, bingo card, etc. This changes every time. It's something the person can look forward to every single month.

For this one-year subscription, you will pay the full amount up front. The person who receives the annual subscription will receive an Itse Mail by post at the end of every month in 2026. The first issue of the Itse Mail will be sent out by the end of January 2026.

If you buy the one-year Itse Mail later than January, for instance, at the end of the year, you will receive all previous Itse Mails together.

This subscription will NOT automatically renew after a year.
